Learning to Speak in English - How to Learn the Right Grammar

Learning to Speak in English - How to Learn the Right GrammarThe English language is one of the hardest languages to learn for many people. Sometimes, the reason for this is because of the way that the language is constructed and because English grammar is a difficult subject. The simple fact is that grammar is not really very important to English speakers. They are more interested in knowing how to use language properly and correctly to be understood. The problem with grammar and language is that it seems to be something that one has to study endlessly to become proficient in. In actuality, you can learn grammar and learn to use the language within a matter of days if you use certain key words and phrases on a daily basis. These can be words like: 'for 'if', 'it 'them'. Use these words with regularity and you will begin to improve your understanding of the English language.English grammar is rather simple and easy to understand once you have this information in your head. The only th ing that you need to do is try to learn the grammar rules by placing them in the right spots in your speech. You can take a look at other people's speech, which is usually written down and try to put it into your own voice as closely as possible. The problem with learning grammar to improve your English is that it can be very distracting. It can keep you from concentrating on your language learning and concentration is very important for successful language learning. When you learn to use words and phrases in the correct English order, you are also improving your comprehension of the language and you will be a more effective communicator. Once you get past the first step, where you understand the language, you can then begin to improve your speaking ability and improve your English language ability. If you find that you need to brush up on your English grammar, you can continue to use the same methods, but you may want to supplement your vocabulary with some phrases. As you see how the se phrases are constructed and what they mean, you will begin to see how quickly you can learn a new language. You can learn grammar to improve your English at your own pace, once you have the tools needed to do so. However, remember that the most important aspect is learning to speak the language correctly, which is often more important than how quickly you can learn the language.

The Best Places in Europe for Landscape Photography.

The Best Places in Europe for Landscape Photography. Europe’s Top Spots for Incredible Landscape Photos. ChaptersWhat is Landscape Photography? What Makes a Great Landscape Photograph?Europe’s Best Locations for Landscape Photography.Find Your Own Landscape Photography Location.Few people have been bold â€" or daft â€" enough to say sincerely that Europe is ugly. In fact, most people would say that it is pretty damn beautiful really â€" as soon as you get out of the cities at least. From the awesome mountains â€" from the Alps to the Caucasus to the Carpathians â€" to some of the most breath-taking coastal, agricultural, and urban landscapes you’ll ever see, the continent is fairly well endowed with wonder. But this is no surprise. Because, honestly, given how Eurocentric this world has been for the last four hundred years, it’s really been the Europeans who have defined what we mean by an inspiring landscape, or even an interesting landscape. The very categories of beauty and sublimity were developed in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries when the first tourists started to explo re the wonder of the world. And, luckily enough, most of this has survived relatively unbesmirched until today. Some of the most beautiful landscapes exist in Europe, such as Scotland’s Highlands (just ask the Lonely Planet), the Dolomites, or Norway’s far north. For any landscape photographer, nature photographer, or travel photographer, these are going to be some of the places you’ll want to come back to again and again and again. But there are more. And here we want to give you some photography tips regarding the best locations in Europe to take landscape photographs. So, here are some superb photography locations. All you have to do now is hone your photography skills, pick up your photography magazine and your digital camera, and head out into the landscapes of the world. This is mainly thanks to new technologies: photo sharing platforms like Instagram, camera gear that is affordable and transportable, and a whole new set of wide angle lenses etc that heighten the effect of the photo composition. But all this stuff doesn’t change the things that landscape photographers are taking photos of. And that, obviously, is strange, gorgeous, interesting, awe-inspiring, moving, or surprising landsc apes. Landscapes with a human element or pure nature photography. An urban landscape or a seascape. A mountainous panorama or a street at sunset. The beauty of a landscape isn’t essential â€" but it surely helps. And we shouldn’t be thinking necessarily of wide rolling hills and horizons. Landscape photographers take great pictures of the landscape of an ocean wave, or the startling microscopic landscapes on skin. They take landscape pictures of man-made structures or of animal communities. In fact, there is little that can’t in some way be classed as landscape image.Check out the best places for landscape photography in the USA.What Makes a Great Landscape Photograph?A beautiful landscape is not enough to make great photos. We amateurs know well enough â€" surely â€" that pointing a camera at a landscape is not going to produce something wonderful. Something memorable â€" and something good to remember by â€" but not a photograph in the sense of art. Professional landscape phot ography is something else. And the idea of good photography, to dip into some aesthetic theory, is to make the photo â€" the image itself â€" more important than the natural landscape represented. The photo itself needs to be special, rather than just the image. To make this happen, there are all sorts of things a professional photographer would need to think about. The depth of field, the shutter speed, short or long exposure, the levels of natural light â€" and then the image editing that follows. And these are just the photography techniques that you would need to get to grips with. Then, there is a little thing called patience. Timing is the most important thing about photography in general â€" and landscape photographers like Colin Prior have spoken at length about the endless hours waiting for the perfect light levels, the perfect position of the clouds. And if you want to be taking photos of wildlife, this is something you will have to accommodate for even further.Because timin g turns a good photo into a great one. And, if you are anything other than a holidayer or tourist (and there is absolutely nothing wrong with this), this is what you should be aiming for.Find the best places for landscape photography in Asia!Europe’s Best Locations for Landscape Photography. And at this point, we need to think about where exactly you can go to get some beautiful pictures. Here are ten of the best spots from across Europe. But, yes, you are going to find some more yourself. The Scottish Highlands.Scotland is famed for its bad weather and its terrible cuisine. Yet, these things aside, it also has some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world. From the rolling greenness of its lowlands to the rugged barrenness of its north, it has a range of fascinating and jaw-dropping landforms that are a gift to any landscape photographer.Check out Colin Prior’s work â€" mentioned above â€" and remember what the Scots say: if it wasn’t for the weather, and for the midges, S cotland would have the best beaches in the world too.Take your camera on holiday there. Outside of the main cities, you’ll hardly see a soul.Find the best photography courses London here. The world is full of beautiful landscapes. The Italian Dolomites.Italy’s eastern Alps are literally the place the word sublime was first used for. They are an astonishing place. The Dolomites, as they are known, are recognised for the weird, incongruous rock formations that jut out abruptly from rolling green farmland â€" and they are an incredibly popular spot for hikers, climbers, and â€" in the winter â€" skiers. (And geologists too.)Yet, their beauty comes from a mix of the strange stone (dolomite â€" from which the mountains get their name), the tempestuous summer weather, and the vivid variations in light. The mountains appear to change colour throughout the day â€" so pick a spot, and use up the length of your film.Check out Africa's greatest landscapes for photographers.Norway’s Fjords and Glaciers.Norway has a bit of a reputation for being drop-dead gorgeous. Known for its seawater lakes â€" the fjords â€" and its crumpled, vertiginous terrain, it has inspired and attracte d landscape photographers since the invention of landscape photography.Explore the area around Bergen for the patchwork of water and greenness. Or head up north for snow, snow, and more snow. Maybe take some gloves.France’s Provence.Oh, to live in Provence. France’s south-eastern most region boasts cliffs and sea, the Calanques, the Camargue â€" Europe’s largest river delta, bristling with wildlife â€" rivers galore, and the Maritime Alps. It’s a starkly varied area, with opportunities for you to hone your photography skills on all sorts of different landscapes. The most famous images you’ll find of Provence are probably the heavily saturated photos of lavender. If you want to snap your own, head to L’Abbey de Senanque. The purple lavender fields of Provence - one of Europe's most famous landscapes.Andalusia, Spain.Andalusia, or Andalucía is the southern-most area of Spain, an area known for its heat, its heavily Arab-inflected culture, and its lush landscapes.Check out the mind-boggling aerial photography of Emmet Gowin, who travelled to the area in 2012. Or, otherwise, take yourself to the Sierra Nevada, the Parque Nacional de Doñana, or the coasts around Cadiz.Anatolia, Turkey. Not strictly in Europe â€" but as close as you can get â€" Anatolia makes up the massive area of Turkey just east of the Bosporus. Exploring all of it might be a rather longwinded experience, yet you’ll see some of the most bizarre and astounding landforms you’ll ever see in your life.Just have a quick google of Pamukkale, for example, or the world-famous weirdness of Cappadocia. Alongside these, you have the biblical, imposing Mount Ararat, and the stupendousness of the North Anatolian Mountains.South Moravia, Czechi aSouth Moravia is known, strangely enough, for its fields. This usually not super interesting landform, here, in Czech takes on a transcendental form. You’ve never seen fields like it.Greenness is the name of the game here â€" greenness and swirling, undulating relief. It’s spectacular. Just a really really special place.Read about the best landscapes in South America! The rolling hills of Czechia.Svaneti, Georgia.A little off the beaten track, perhaps, but that’s exactly where you are going to find the best photographic subjects. Svaneti, in Georgia’s Greater Caucasus mountains, is an insane mountain spot, with ancient architecture, green pastures, and striking mountain views.Iceland.Iceland is the sort of place that you go if you just want to walk around in shock the whole time. Or, at least, it would be, if the weather was a little better. And, honestly, if the weather is bad, you’re probably going to be more awe-struck just by the prices of living.Anyway, with volcanos, geysers, glaciers, and rugged, rocky scenes â€" not forgetting, of course, the Northern Lights â€" Iceland is simply the landscape lovers dream.Find Your Own Landscape Photography Location. It was alluded to above. However, it’s worth stressing. Landscape photography can happen anywhere, at any time. And the important thing is to show the world places, scenes, and situati ons that have rarely been seen. So, don’t worry too much about jet-setting to Georgia. Hone your craft at home. Spot the beauty in your walk to work or school. Landscape is everywhere â€" and, in this discipline, the photo itself counts for more.

Dependent and independent variables

Dependent and independent variables Probability is a very important and interesting topic in mathematics. Probability is finding the chances for an event to occur. In a given question there can be more than one event occurring. In such cases it can be checked if one event is dependent or independent from the other. In a question there are two events A and B. If the probability of event A occurring affects the probability of event B then A and B are dependent event. If the probability of event A occurring does not affects the probability of event B then A and B are independent event. Example 1: In a bag there are 5 marbles. Kelly picks a marble without placing the first one back. Are the events independent or dependent? Solution: The first event is picking the first marble. The second event is picking the second marble. Here Kelly picks the second marble without replacing the first marble back in the bag. So the two events are dependent as second pick is after the first pick of the marble. Question: Multiple choice question (Pick the correct option.) The students can choose any field trip between museum and Science Park. Ben picks museum and Sam picks Science Park. What are the events? a) Dependent b) Independent c) None of these. Correct answer: option b. Explanation: The students can choose between any of the two options. Ben choosing to go to the museum doesnt affect Sam choosing to go to the Science Park. Hence both the events are independent events.

Why You Need a Personal Brand (Even If You Think You Dont) - Introvert Whisperer

Introvert Whisperer / Why You Need a Personal Brand (Even If You Think You Don’t) - Introvert Whisperer Why You Need a Personal Brand (Even If You Think You Don’t) Personal branding is one of those terms that are largely unclear or misinterpreted. As a result, some experts in the field are steering away from the term altogether. But I like the term. I think it’s filled with meaning and can see why Tom Peters (business guru) coined the term a decade ago. What Is Branding? To get you clear, let’s first look at this from a purely marketing point of view, since that’s where this term came from. Wiki defines branding as: “Name, term, design, symbol, or any other feature that identifies one sellers goods or service as distinct from those of other sellers.”People engaged in branding seek to develop or align the expectations behind their brand experience, creating the impression that a brand associated with a product or service has certain qualities or characteristics that make it special or unique. In other words, when you see a McDonald s and eat at a McDonalds, you think of certain visual images, as well as a consistent eating experience and environment. You’re very clear this isn’t going to be a fine dining experience; you know what to expect. That’s what branding does for the buyer. It helps them know where to go to have a specific product or service and experience. How Do You Make Branding Personal? To translate that for your usage, personal branding is what identifies you from another person and what other people can expect when “experiencing” or being with you. In the work context, it’s your work reputation and what people come to value about you. Your personal brand is unique to you. There’s no one else out there with the same constellation of skills and personal behaviors you have. Granted, there may be others with greater expertise than you, but we aren’t talking about a comparison when it comes to personal branding; we’re talking about only you and how you are viewed by others. For example, let’s look at Oprah’s personal brand. Visually, Oprah wears color and smiles. You see pictures of her touching and making contact with people. In her work, her focus is on being curious about the world, supporting the best in others and personal development. You could say many other things about what we expect out of her and how we experience her. All of that is consistent and clear to those of us watching her. We’d all be shocked if she suddenly got cranky and negative. To summarize your personal brand: It’s unique to you. It’s your reputation. It’s how others experience you and what they value about you. It’s what others expect and seek you out for. It’s also what YOU want to be known for. Why Does Personal Branding Matter? With those things in mind, now the big question is: Why is awareness of your personal brand important to your career? Here are 3 very good reasons: 1. If you’re aware of your personal brand and it’s consistent with your career goals, you want to reinforce it so people very clearly understand what you’re all about. It helps people remember you when it’s critical. (Click here to tweet this thought.) 2. If you’re ready to make a change in your career status in the foreseeable future, you want to think through how your brand needs to change so others start “seeing” you at this new level. 3. If you aren’t going where you want in your career, you probably have a mismatch between your personal brand and your aspirations. That means you have to do something to align those two things. You will only go as far as your personal brand supports. Your personal brand is always there, whether you understand it or are deliberate about managing it or not. You will find that if you pay attention to it and continually align it to your career goals, you’ll be more successful at attaining these career goals. A Day in the Life at Boston University

A Day in the Life at Boston University The tutors behind Varsity Tutors are not just here to teach theyre sharing their college experiences as well. Lena is a Boston tutor specializing in Psychology tutoring, Essay Editing tutoring, Biochemistry tutoring, and more. She graduated from Boston University in 2012 with a Bachelors degree in Biology. Check out her review of her alma mater: VT: Describe the campus setting and transportation options. How urban or safe is the campus? Are there buses or do you need a car/bike? Lena: Boston University is located in the heart of Boston. Fenway Park, the Charles River, and Kenmore Square are a short walking distance away. I would describe the campus as very safe with many resources that provide around-the-clock protection for students. The university has its own shuttle bus system; however, the iconic T Train is a very reliable transportation source. Cars are entirely unnecessary as the T, and readily accessible cabs, will take you anywhere you need to go. Many students bike from place to place as well. VT: How available are the professors, academic advisers, and teaching assistants? Lena: Classes can be quite large at Boston University, and this can be intimidating. However, professors and TAs are very helpful. Academic advisors are always available and willing to discuss your academic career during and after your time at the university. VT: How would you describe the dorm life rooms, dining options, location, socialization opportunities with other students? Lena: Boston University has many dining halls throughout the campus. Each one is unique and equally delicious. Boston University also has a variety of living situations, ranging from dorms to apartments. Living in the Boston University dorms really did spoil me a bit. The John Hancock Student Village is honestly the best dorm living I have ever experienced. Everything is new and up to date, and the maintenance staff is very responsive to any problems there may be. The security at each dorm is another plus when living in the city. VT: Which majors/programs are best represented and supported? What did you study and why? Did the university do a good job supporting your particular area of study? Lena: I studied Biology at Boston University. Other popular and well-known colleges at the university include the School of Management and the School of Communications. Each college was very well represented and supported. The university also provided multiple study abroad opportunities crafted for each area of study. I personally studied abroad in Ecuador with the Tropical Ecology Program. VT: How easy or difficult was it for you to meet people and make friends as a freshman? Does Greek life play a significant role in the campus social life? Lena: Although freshmen dorms are not the nicest of the dorms at Boston University, the experience is truly extraordinary. The bonds made during those first semesters are strong. If that is not enough, there are hundreds of different university groups and activities where you can meet people. I was also a member of TriDelta while I attended Boston University. If you decide to join in on Greek life, it is very prominent. However, I never felt that you would have to be a part of Greek life to be social. VT: How helpful is the Career Centerand other student support services?Do many reputable companies recruit on campus? Lena: There are many recruiting events and networking events sponsored by the university. Also, Boston is home to a large amount of colleges and universities that open their recruiting events to everyone. VT: How are the various study areas such aslibraries, the student union, and dorm lounges? Are they over-crowded, easily available, spacious? Lena: There is one major library called Mugar. It is very large and I never had a problem finding space. Each university building has multiple study areas that are accessible to everyone. The George Sherman Union is a large area that includes many spaces to sit and socialize, or to study, and includes a few options for food. VT: Describe the surrounding town. What kinds of outside establishments / things to do are there that make it fun, boring, or somewhere in between? To what extent do students go to the downtown area of the city versus staying near campus? Lena: As I said before, Boston University is in the heart of Boston. There is always something to do. Whether it is sponsored by the university, or entirely unrelated to anything in school, there is never a dull night. VT: How big or small is the student body? Were you generally pleased or displeased with the typical class sizes? Lena: The student body is very large. This can seem intimidating. I battled with the decision of attending a smaller school. I ended up choosing Boston University because of the amazing opportunities the university applies to its students. I learned to love the large student body and could not have seen my undergraduate experience any other way. The average class size when I first attended was 19. However, it really depends on what you are studying. Most introductory classes are quite large. My Introductory Biology class consisted of about 200 students. As you increase in specificity or difficulty, the class size decreases. VT: Describe one memorable experience with a professor and/or class. Perhaps one you loved the most or one youregretthe most. Lena: I have to say my first memorable experience at Boston University occurred before I was an official student. I attended the Accepted Students Day and was being shown a presentation on the study abroad experiences at Boston University. As a small town girl, realizing I could live in some of the most remote places in the world and call it school was incredible. My mom said that I had the biggest smile on my face during the presentation. Check out Lenas tutoring profile. Help Your Child Master Essential High School Study Skills

Help Your Child Master Essential High School Study Skills Study skills high school students need to be successful may come easily to some and may be harder to manage for others.Understanding that your studentmay require more assistance in managing high school study skills is a great first step to helping boost academic performance and future work habits. Even if your high schooler is earning great grades you may want to implement these essential study skills as a way to build a strong foundation for college or career. There are certainstudy skills high school students need to be successful. Sharing these tips with your child is a great first step to creating effective study skills in high school. Make a schedule Creating a personalized study schedule should be the first thing your child does at the beginning of each semester. This may change weekly or monthly but having a general studying schedule outlined will help with planning ahead. This schedule should build in time around extra-curricular activities, athletic practices, and after school jobs. Trade your time If unexpected events arise that impact the study schedule encourage your child to trade time instead of simply missing a study session. Find ways to adjust the schedule. Many students find that using one of the three weekend nights as a reserve study session provides enough time to make up missed studying. Create an organizational system No two organization systems for studying are alike. Some students prefer organizing everything digitally on a laptop or tablet, others rely on a folder and binder system, and some may choose hanging file folders in a caddy for organization. Give your child the freedom to find a system that works but provide support in creating the structure. Help your child identify better ways to organize and encourage maintenance off the organizational system. Plan ahead Your child should review the to-do list, assignment schedule, and studying schedule regularly. Flagging or highlighting important or upcoming assignments eliminates the urgent response of missed or forgotten work. If your child does forget or miss an assignment it should be completed immediately along with adjusting the standard study schedule so no other assignments suffer. Set your own deadlines Even though each assignment comes with a built in deadline from a teacher students should work to set their own deadlines. These personal deadlines help prevent procrastination and allow for extra time in case an unseen event arises and your child needs more time to complete the work. Teachers will appreciate the effort students have put in to completing work in advance of the set deadline. Plan for review Your child should find time in the weekly study schedule for a brief review of previous coursework. It should cover all the work already completed and give your childan opportunity to look forward to future work. This review will help to remind students of what has been learned and how it connects to upcoming assignments. Find a friend There may be times that your child needs to study with peers or work on classroom assignments. Encourage your child to choose classmates with successful study habits. Having friends to study with is beneficial as long as their habits dont get in the way. Work with the teachers Your childs teacher works as instructor, facilitator, and cheerleader. Work with the teachers to ensure the study schedule is followed and work is being completed. Teachers want their students to succeed and feel accomplishment. Contact your childs teachers as soon as you discover a problem that needs to be addressed. Do you have any other study skills high school students may find useful? What have you found that works best for your family?
